These include Maritiem Instituut Willem Barentsz, Maritiem Instituut De Ruyter, NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences and Dutch Offshore Academy in the Netherlands, Southampton Solent University in the United Kingdom, University of Tasmania (Australian Maritime College) in Australia, Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport in Egypt and University of the Aegean in Greece.

Maritiem Instituut Willem Barentsz (MIWB) was founded in 1875 and is one of the oldest maritime institutions in the Netherlands. It offers various maritime courses including seafaring, logistics, harbour operations, offshore operations, fisheries and advanced pedagogical training at Certificate, Diploma and Degree levels.

MIWB has received numerous awards from appropriate bodies in the Netherlands as well as from international organisations such as International Maritime Organisation (IMO), International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA), Global MET, The Nautical Institute of the United Kingdom and Det Norske Veritas for contributions in the advancements of knowledge and the enhancements of practices in the maritime industry. MIWB also provides support to the programmes at the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmo, Sweden.

Maritiem Instituut De Ruyter (MIDR) was founded as a seafarer’s school in 1903. The Institute’s research facilities and the consultancy services are among the top in Europe for maritime related training, safety, nautical and engineering courses. Strategically located between the biggest ports of Europe such as Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Ghent, MIDR is recognised as one of the leading maritime educational institutions in Western Europe and is best known for its specialty in Logistics.

Southampton Solent University (SSU) was founded in 1856. With decades of experience in maritime education and training, SSU is recognised as among the highest ranking maritime universities in the United Kingdom and the world. The Warsash Maritime Academy, which is part of SSU, provides first class education, training, research and commercial services to all maritime sectors worldwide.

Australian Maritime College (AMC) of the University of Tasmania is Australia’s well known national centre for maritime education, training and research and is recognised globally as being a centre of excellence. Its multi-million dollar suite of specialist teaching, learning and research facilities is internationally acclaimed and utilised by government bodies and maritime-related businesses world-wide.

NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences is an international university of applied sciences with about 7,700 students from over 60 countries. NHTV Breda was founded in 1966 as an institute offering management programmes in tourism and leisure. It is recognised as the world largest and leading education institution in both fields. Nearly all NHTV Breda’s study programmes rank first in their categories in the national rankings.

Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) is one of the specialised organisations of the League of Arab States engaged in education, training, research, community, service and projects, offering programmes in marine transportation, business, and engineering. Since its inception in 1972, AASTMT has been educating, training, and qualifying students for a wide range of disciplines in sciences and technologies with particular emphasis on the various aspects of the maritime industry and logistics.

The University of the Aegean (UAegean) was founded in 1984. It aims to introduce new approaches in higher education in Greece and worldwide and to promote regional development. Situated in 6 picturesque islands in the Aegean Archipelago, the UAegean offers a unique natural, cultural and human environment for modern studies in the ancient cradle of knowledge.  

Dutch Offshore Academy is one of the leading offshore training providers in Europe focusing on the training of professionals for the offshore industry through practical and context-oriented training at MBO + level (Vocational Diploma).
